L.e’s Summer Jam Performance

Posted in Events, Lifestyle, Music by Milk+Syrup on July 29, 2010

The Other Paper.com featured L.e in their Summer Jam review.  We are sorry if you missed this performance.  Visit the link or read below to see what they had to say about the performance…

” This set up LeForTheUncool lovely. Early in his set, he rocked a technical verse about being a pyramid of some sort and then brought out the N.P. and the Catalyst of Thought set to rock over the Mobb Deep/Kool G Rap Alchemist-produced classic “The Realest. Le’s set was a monster because of this formula. He intertwined his own songs with the work of some of the best lyricists in the city and top-notch instrumentals. And because his voice and delivery are so unique, Le was able to hold together and harness the chaotic energy into a truly special moment.  Before bringing Rashad and the 3rd out, the deejay dropped Le’s hit “Polo on My Body.” AU, the song’s producer, joined Le onstage, and the room partied together on that song. ”

“It’s just so menacing”

Posted in Auto, Lifestyle, Photography, random by Milk+Syrup on July 22, 2010

I’ll try my hardest to sum this up in a short amount of words because I know most of you stop reading after about the first sentence, but it may be hard to do seeing as it took me and my dad 4 years to build this car.

It goes like this, I always told my dad I wanted a nova, so when I was 15 he surprised me with one, except it was barely rolling, and oh yeah, it was a station wagon. Since then, its been completely stripped down to the shell and rebuilt from the ground up. Brand new everything; motor, suspension, paint, interior. It was kind of like buying a brand new car, except if you built your brand new car in your garage.

As far as the details, its a 1963 Chevy Nova. The motor is out of an 2005 Silverado. I had all of the chrome accessories powder coated black to keep it sleek. I wanted the car to have an overall modern look, while still maintaining some of the classic cliches of a 60′s big body car.

I know what I’m taking to Gallery Hop, whose ridin’ shotgun!?

Gucci, vintage style

Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle by Milk+Syrup on July 21, 2010

“Creative director Frida Giannini sought out to re-create some of Gucci’s former offerings dating back to the 60s. With this in mind, the bag features a material known as GG Plus which combines multiple layers of PVC to create a waterproof finish. The Gucci links logo is subtly printed with the final product resulting in a texturized finish.” -HypeBeast

This is a super dope carry on by Gucci, I love the subtle approach they took on the design.

Emma stone in this month’s issue of GQ.

“There are plenty of reasons to develop a crippling crush on Emma Stone. At the age of 21, she has partied with the cast of SNL, taken a Jonah Hill head butt in Superbad, and been taught the secret of the perfect margarita by Bill Murray. She lives in New York, works out of the Sunset Tower Hotel in L.A., and also happens to be stunning as a blonde—her natural color—or a redhead……”
